Privacy Policy

This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their 'Personally identifiable information' (PII) is being used online. PII, as used in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website and Applications.

Q.1 What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our blog, website or app?

This Policy explains how BullionKnot ("we", "us", "our"), operating bullionknot.com, collects, stores, uses, and shares your personal data when you browse our website, create an account, place an order, contact support, or receive our communications. By using our website or sharing your data with us, you consent to the practices described here, in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the SPDI Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Read it together with our Terms and Conditions, Shipping Policy, and Return & Exchange Policy.

Q.2 Where does this Policy apply?

It applies to all data collected through our website, account registration, order placement, payments, returns and refunds, customer support conversations (email, phone, chat, WhatsApp), reviews, surveys, and promotional campaigns. It does not cover third-party websites we link to — those have their own policies.

Q.3 What personal data do you collect about me?

Depending on how you use our website, we may collect:

  • Identity and account details — name, email, mobile number, password, and limited profile information if you sign in via a third-party provider like Google.
  • Address details — billing and shipping address, city, state, PIN code.
  • Order and transaction details — order history, cart and wishlist activity, invoices, payment references, refunds, returns, exchanges, and discount codes used.
  • Payment details — payment method type, transaction references, and payment/refund status only. We never store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or banking passwords — those go directly to our payment gateway.
  • Device and technical details — IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed, session and cookie data.
  • Usage and preferences — browsing behaviour, product views, and inferred style interests (bridal, festive, casual) used to personalise your experience.
  • Approximate location — derived from IP address or shipping details, for delivery serviceability and fraud prevention.
  • Support communications — records of your emails, calls, chats, WhatsApp messages, complaints, and feedback.
  • Reviews and photos — content you submit publicly, which other users can see. Post with care.
Q.4 How do you collect my data?

Three ways: directly from you (registration, orders, support requests, reviews, subscriptions); automatically (cookies, pixels, server logs, analytics while you browse); and from service providers (our e-commerce platform, payment gateways, courier partners, analytics and marketing tools) to the extent needed to operate the store.

Q.5 What do you use my data for?

We use your data to: create and secure your account; process orders, payments, and discounts; ship and deliver your orders and send tracking updates; handle cancellations, returns, exchanges, and refunds; respond to support requests and grievances; detect and prevent fraud and abuse; send transactional messages (order and delivery alerts) by email, SMS, and WhatsApp; send promotional messages such as new collection launches and festive-season offers (which you can opt out of); analyse and improve our website and collections; and comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

Q.6 What gives you the legal right to process my data?

Your consent — given when you register, order, or opt in to communications through a clear affirmative action. We also process data where necessary to perform our contract with you (we can't ship without your address), comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, or maintain security. You may withdraw consent where applicable, though withdrawal may limit the services we can provide.

Q.7 Do you sell or share my data with anyone?

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only on a need-to-know basis with: courier and logistics partners (name, address, PIN, contact number — masked where feasible); payment gateways (for processing and refunds); technology providers (e-commerce platform, hosting, analytics, communication and support tools); marketing partners (for campaign measurement, subject to your preferences); professional advisers (auditors, lawyers); government authorities and law enforcement where legally required; and a business transferee if we are ever merged, acquired, or restructured. We choose partners with reasonable care, but we are not liable for their independent acts beyond what the law does not permit us to exclude.

Q.8 Do you use cookies?

Yes. Cookies and similar technologies keep you logged in, retain your cart, run analytics, detect fraud, and measure campaigns. Some are set by our platform and third-party tools operating on our behalf. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but features like your cart and saved preferences may stop working properly.

Q.9 Is my data stored outside India?

Possibly. Our website runs on third-party e-commerce infrastructure whose servers may be located outside India, so your data may be stored or processed in other jurisdictions, subject to Indian law and any cross-border restrictions notified under the DPDP Act, 2023. If those restrictions change, we will update our practices and this Policy.

Q.10 How long do you keep my data?

Only as long as reasonably necessary — for order fulfilment, tax and financial record-keeping, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Data we no longer need is deleted, anonymised, or securely archived.

Q.11 How do you keep my data secure?

Through reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards: SSL encryption on the website, access controls, restricted employee access, and the security infrastructure of our e-commerce and payment platforms. No system is completely secure, and you are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

Warning: BullionKnot and its delivery partners will never call, message, or email you asking for your card PIN, CVV, OTP, net-banking password, or full card number. If anyone does, refuse, and report it to us and to law enforcement.

Q.12 What rights do I have over my data?

Subject to applicable law, you can: access a summary of the data we hold about you; request correction or updating of inaccurate data; request erasure (subject to legally required retention); withdraw consent; opt out of promotional emails, SMS, and WhatsApp at any time (transactional order/delivery messages continue, as they're necessary to serve you); raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer; and nominate another individual to exercise your rights where the law permits. Contact us using the details in Question 17 — we may verify your identity first.

Q.13 Can I delete my account?

Yes, at any time, by contacting us. After verifying your request, we will delete or anonymise your account data — except records we must legally retain for tax, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or contractual purposes, for the period mandated under applicable law.

Q.14 Can minors use bullionknot.com?

Our website is intended for users aged 18 and above. If you are under 18, you may use it only under the supervision and consent of a parent or lawful guardian, who accepts this Policy on your behalf. We do not knowingly collect children's data in contravention of applicable law.

Q.15 Are you responsible for links to other websites?

No. Our website and communications may link to third-party sites and social media pages. Their privacy practices are their own — review their policies before sharing any information with them.

Q.16 Will this Policy change?

It may, to reflect legal, operational, or technological developments. The current version, with its updated date, will always be on this page. Continuing to use the website after changes means you accept the revised Policy.
