UNPACK GENTLY & HANG FOR 24 HOURS

Unpack gently and allow the lehenga to hang for 24 hours to release any travel creases - do not iron immediately.

STEAM, DON'T IRON DIRECTLY

Do not steam or iron directly on embroidery, zari, gota patti, mirror work, or stonework. Use a pressing cloth or steam from a distance of 6-8 inches.

HANG IT INSTEAD OF FOLDING

If your piece has zardozi or heavy metal threadwork, avoid folding it along embroidered sections hang it instead.

TRY IT ON BEFORE THE EVENT

Try on your blouse before the event. Silk and georgette behave differently when worn ensure the fit is comfortable before the occasion.

APPLY PERFUME & DEODORANT BEFORE WEARING

Apply perfume and deodorant before wearing never directly onto the fabric.

Washing & Cleaning

Do NOT machine wash any Bullionknot lehenga. Machine washing will damage embroidery, distort fabric, and cause irreversible shrinkage in silk.
Fabric type Recommended Cleaning method
Pure Silk / Katan Silk Dry clean only. Professional dry cleaning preserves weave, lustre, and zari. Do not wet wash.
Organza / Tissue Dry clean only. Extremely delicate; water causes permanent water marks.
Heavy Georgette / Crepe Dry clean strongly recommended. Light hand wash only if no heavy embellishment use cold water and mild detergent.
Velvet Dry clean only. Never wet wash or iron velvet it crushes the pile permanently.
Net / Sheer  Light hand wash in cold water with mild shampoo. Do not wring press between dry towels and lay flat to dry.
Zardozi / Zari Embroidery  Dry clean only metal threads tarnish with water exposure.
Mirror Work  Dry clean. Avoid soaking thread holding mirrors loosens in prolonged water exposure.
Gota Patti  Dry clean. Real zari ribbon can unravel if wet.
Stonework / Sequins  Dry clean. Heat and water loosen adhesive on stones. Hand stitched stones are more durable but still require dry clean.
